Though French dare devil Remi Lucidi — better known by his creator name, Remi Enigma — may have gained a social media following for his daring urban climbing stunts on some of the world’s tallest structures, the influencer recently proved just how dangerous the extreme sport can be after falling to his death off of a Hong Kong skyscraper.

Lucidi died on Thursday after authorities say he fell from the 68th floor of the Tregunter Tower located in Kowloon’s Tsim Sha Tsui district. After gaining access to the housing complex by telling a guard he was seeing a friend who lived on the 40th floor, the stuntman allegedly headed to the 49th floor before taking the stairs to the top of the 721-foot-tall structure.

Authorities speculate that upon reaching this peak, Lucidi lost his footing and fell. Though he knocked on a 68th-floor window for help, scaring a domestic worker who saw his terrifying plea, she ultimately opted to ignore him after he moved away.

While authorities eventually arrived at the scene after receiving complaints of a gas leak, it was too late for Lucidi. He had fallen from the window to his death, ripping off a portion of a gas pipe in the process. Police later recovered his French ID card and his camera, which contained clips of similar, more successful stunts. He was 30 years old.

As news of his passing began circulating online, several of Lucidi’s fans offered their condolences to the late creator on Instagram, commenting on many of his popular snaps as well as his most recent upload depicting the Hong Kong skyline.

“Incredibly amazing views! You lived your life to the fullest,” wrote @jillhallowell1972.

Meanwhile, others dunked on him, accusing him of egging on an early death with his stunts.

“Your life was definitely too short. All that for some likes. RIP,” commented @seriousguygmny.

But hey, whether you loved or hated Lucidi‘s videos, commenter @dncrco was right: “Bro went out doing what he loved! “ they wrote. “He lived his life fully. Not many can say that.”
